Born as Alexandra Elizabeth Sheedy she's been in the public eye since the last century, for almost 35 years.

Coming from NY where she was born on 13.06.1963, she writes books and acts on TV and stage. Her writing career came before her appearances on TV, and she was just 12 years old when she released She Was Nice to Mice - a book targeted at children. She breezed through the 80s, and her big break came in the movie with Sean Penn, Bad Boys(1983). She was also in WarGames, The Breakfast Club, St Elmo's Fire and Maid to Order amongst some of them. The beginning of 90's saw she publish another book "Yesterday I Saw the Sun: Poems". This came out in 1991.

A year later she was married to David Lansbury, who's also an actor. Before she got married, she was also in a relationship with Richie Sambora. From her marriage to Lansbury, she has a daughter born in '94. The marriage ended in '08 when Ally Sheedy wanted a divorce.

What's also interesting is that her parents divorced when she was just 8 years old. Some of the acting and the tough roles took their turn on Sheedy and gave her trouble sleeping so she started taking tablets. This led to addiction and in the last decade of the last century, she has to seek help.

Her involvement in the movie industry got her few awards, mainly for her movie HighArt where she was nominated and won for Best Actress, Best Female Lead by LA Films Critics Association and National Society of Film Critics and Independent Spirit respectifully. MTV Movie Awards also gave her a Silver Bucket of Excellence some 5 years ago that she shared with other actors of The Breakfast Club. She continues to make appearances on TV series todate.
